The exam is worth a total of 160 points. To to obtain a passing grade, a student must achieve a mark of 80% (128 points) or more. The ASA 106 Exam takes between 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs. to write and encompasses all the ASA 106 Standards. In other words, if you can answer all the ASA 106 Standards, you will have no problem in successing passing the ASA 106 Exam. As was mentioned earlier, the ASA 106 Exam is mainly a short answer exam. We suggest that you answer the exam in point form because you have a lot of material to provide in a limited space. We also suggest that you use small diagrams to help explain your answers. A quick diagram of a boat anchored with it's stern made fast to the dock will greatly facilitate and otherwise wordy answering. (Using the diagram we provide in our ASA 106 Study Guide would be ideal.) As with all exams, read the question over carefully and make sure you understand it before you start your answer.
